About Southwest Counseling Services Recovery
Southwest Counseling Services in Rock Springs, Wyoming, offers substance use services to adolescents, adults and families who reside in Sweetwater County. They are CARF accredited and certified by the state of Wyoming.
The center accepts Medicare, Medicaid, and a number of other insurances. They offer a discounted/sliding fee schedule, and clients will not be denied services because of an inability to pay.
Therapies and treatments used include dialectical behavior therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, accelerated resolution therapy, motivational interviewing, play therapy, medication management and medication assisted treatment (MAT). Your first step is to be assessed based on the Assessment Addictions Severity Index (ASI) and ASAM criteria. Assessors are then able to place you in the appropriate treatment program.
Treatment Programs for Adults
The Women’s Addiction Program is residential treatment for pregnant women and mothers. Children are in the program with mom while mom has the opportunity to work on parenting skills.
Their intensive outpatient program (IOP) is a step down from residential and meets nine hours per week for four to six months. Continuing care is offered for clients who have successfully completed outpatient or residential treatment.
A 24 week Relapse Prevention program is for individuals who have completed treatment but have relapsed. The Recovery Skills program educates substance users who are not yet educated about addiction and abuse.
Adolescent Treatment Options
The adolescent IOP is offered to clients who are 12 to 17 years old and are abusing or dependent on a substance. The program uses a behavioral therapy program on Corrective Thinking and lasts at least nine weeks.
Adolescent Aftercare meets Thursdays 3:30 to 4:30 pm for two to three months. The program includes journaling, other assignments, and education on triggers and experiences.
Substance Use Treatment for Justice Involved
A DUI class meets the last Thursday of every other month from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Their Therapeutic Community residential is an alternative to jail or prison and lasts four to six months.
Individuals incarcerated in the Sweetwater County Detention Center may be able to participate in a gender-specific jail-based treatment. This program lasts four months.
