About Sand Island Treatment Kline Welsh Behavioral Health
The Kline Welsh Behavioral Health Foundation runs a beautiful facility in Honolulu, Hawai’i, that helps individuals fight mental health and substance abuse disorders. The Sand Island Treatment Center provides long and short-term residential, intensive outpatient, and transitional care programs for all individuals in and around the island of Oahu. Sand Island Treatment Center core program dates back to 1960. This consists of long- and short-term residential treatment. This inpatient program can last up to 24 months and provides rooming, meals, therapy and an on-site medical facility. Gender-specific facilities are separated by different wings and communal bathrooms to provide more comfort and privacy.
One of the best parts of going through treatment at this location is the onsite chef and dietician who provide special dietary meals for each patient. In between chow time are individual and group therapy sessions, 12 Steps, and life skills training. Counseling sessions are also available for outpatient programs and their alumni group.

One of the best features at The Sand Island is the location's beachfront property. During downtimes, clients can walk down the backyard right into the beautiful beaches of Honolulu and relax or enjoy some adventure therapy sessions.
