About Recovery Point Huntington
Recovery Point in Huntington, West Virginia, is the first facility that was opened by the organization. They are a long-term 100-bed men’s recovery center. Women can be referred to the facility in Charleston.
Free Substance Use Disorder Services
The organization provides free services to clients and relies on grants, donations, and fundraisers to support its charitable organization. Merchandise is for sale on their website and helps with operational costs. T-shirts, hoodies, mugs, ornaments, and duffel bags are a few of the items that can be purchased.
All locations offer a nonmedical detox that lasts three to seven days. Clients who are in detox and need medical attention will immediately be admitted to a local hospital emergency room under the care of a physician.
The Off the Street program has two phases. Phase one consists of 28 group sessions, 40 written assignments, community meetings, and peer mentoring.
In phase two, the Silver Chip Program, clients receive a stipend, free room and board, and free meals. During this time they become peer mentors and facilitate classes for phase one clients. Phase two clients are eventually able to leave campus for periods of time. Clients are required to attend community meetings, pay $75 for the program per week, and maintain employment.
The last step is the Continuum of Care. Clients will take a series of life skills classes and receive referrals for community resources. An alumni program is available for all clients who have successfully completed treatment.
