Evaluation and Treatment for Substance Addictions
A medical evaluation will allow a provider to understand the extent of your substance use and discover any medical issues that need a referral to a qualified physician. Urine samples and breath samples are randomly taken to encourage clients not to use substances and to give your therapist an idea of how your recovery is proceeding.
Their intensive outpatient program (IOP) meets three evenings per week. As recovery milestones are achieved, your attendance requirements will decrease in frequency. Group therapy allows you to socialize and have discussions with other clients who have had similar experiences. The IOP is covered by most insurance providers.
Individualized therapy will allow you to have private sessions with your therapist to address concerns you may not want to verbalize in group sessions. These sessions are also a time to discuss your personal treatment plan.
Weekly family group meetings will allow your family to connect with other families who are going through the same process. They will also learn about addiction and its effects on relationships.
Continuing Care to Keep You on the Sobriety Path
Continuing care after treatment completion uses psychodynamics and group therapy to build on skills already acquired in treatment. Topics include relapse prevention, emotional functioning, broadening social networks and working through painful feelings. You will be referred to community services that can help you with current needs and will be referred to a support group such as AA or NA.
