About Hina Mauka Waipahu Outpatient
Located on the island of Oʻahu, Hina Mauka in Waipahu, Hawaii, has been part of the local community for over 50 years. They help adults and teens who are recovering from alcohol use disorders (AUD), but they also specialize in outpatient addiction treatment for other substance use disorders (SUD). If you’re pregnant or struggling with intravenous drug use, you'll be given priority for treatment to ensure you get the support you need as quickly as possible.
Their central location, close to the Farrington Highway and H-1 Freeway, makes it easy to get to treatment. If you don’t have transportation, TheBus, Oʻahu’s public transportation system, has a bus stop less than 75 feet away.

They’re big on teamwork here, so you’ll be involved in your treatment plan and your success in recovery. Part of that teamwork includes working not only with your therapist, but in group sessions where you can connect with others facing similar challenges.
What Outpatient Treatment Is Like
The outpatient treatment is pretty flexible and designed to fit your needs and schedule. You’ll be in treatment anywhere from one to fifteen hours a week. Group sessions are three hours long, and you attend up to five a week.
Besides individual and group counseling, they offer a few extra services. Crisis intervention is there for those tough moments when you need immediate help. Case management helps you get any extra support, which can include connecting you to one of Waipahu’s community support groups, like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA).
School Based Addiction Treatment for Teens
Teen CARE has been supporting Hawaii’s youth since 1987, with a program that offers after-school treatment right on school campuses in Waipahu. The CARF accreditation ensures the program meets high standards and uses proven methods.
Like their adult program, Teen CARE offers individual counseling, family support, and prevention education. Hina Mauka’s programs, whether for adults or teens, are thoughtful and personalized, helping people at every stage of recovery.
