A new applicant can walk into any of Hina Mauka’s clinics Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. They’ve been in operation for over 50 years.
Medicaid and most commercial insurance plans are accepted. The facility is CARF accredited. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is integrated with substance use counseling. Three levels of treatment are offered. Let’s take a look.
Types of Treatment for Substance Use Disorders
Residential treatment is for substance users who need medically supervised detoxi or have severe addiction issues. Day treatment is partial hospitalization which requires several hours per week and is the most intensive form of outpatient services. Outpatient services require fewer hours per week and are the least intensive treatment offered.
Treatment Tracks in Each Type of Treatment
All three levels have three different tracks you could be placed in. Substance Abuse Program Track 1 is for clients who have substance use issues without accompanying mental health disorders.
Co-occurring Program Track 2 is for clients who have substance use issues co-occurring with a mental health disorder. This track uses the cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) approach.
Offender Program Track 3 is for adult clients ordered by the court to obtain treatment and for adult client offenders addicted to alcohol and/or drugs.
Other Services and Treatments at Hina Mauka
After treatment completion you will enter an aftercare program. The program lasts up to 12 weeks and has group sessions once per week for one and a half hours.

Families are able to connect with other families who have been through similar experiences in a group setting.
