Gateway to Change is a long standing provider of outpatient addiction treatment in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the city's north side. The mission centers on  community based care that helps adults build a strong foundation for lasting recovery.

Outpatient Therapy Using 12 Step Methods

The outpatient program serves adult men, women, and young adults navigating substance use disorders, including those with co-occurring mental health concerns and clients involved in the criminal justice system.

Clients can step through regular outpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization based on clinical need, with substance use assessments guiding placement.

Treatment draws on evidence based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, the Matrix Model, relapse prevention, and trauma related counseling.

Sessions are delivered through counseling, with added support like anger management and 12-step facilitation, case management, and substance use education.

Your Path Through the Program

1. Substance use assessment and personalized treatment planning.
2. Placement into the appropriate outpatient level, from PHP to IOP to regular outpatient.
3. Active engagement in therapy, groups, and skill building sessions.
4. Transitional housing or sober living support if needed for stability.
5. Aftercare, continuing care, and discharge planning for sustained recovery.
