About Turning Leaf Adult Treatment

Turning Leaf Adult Treatment is a residential and outpatient drug and alcohol rehab in West Plains, Missouri that is operated by the nonprofit FCC Behavioral Health as its adult General CSTAR program.

It offers social detox and residential treatment. The center also offers outpatient supported recovery and MAT with buprenorphine and naltrexone options as well as counseling for adults with substance use and dual disorders.

They differ from most residential programs in the region. This is due to the sheer density of their weekly programs and a detox model with clear limits patients should understand before committing.

Intensive Residential Programs

Residential programs at Turning Leaf are intensive. Clients receive a minimum of 60 hours of structured therapeutic programs per week which is delivered seven days a week which is a substantially heavier schedule than the typical residential model.

Evenings and weekends drop to light or optional activity at comparable providers.

The emphasis on instruction shows up in feedback from clients who have been elsewhere as one reviewer who had attended eight prior treatment centers described Turning Leaf as being on a much higher plane of instruction.

A recent graduate wrote that the place changed their life. This indicates a day structured around treatment rather than around staying housed while sober.

Social Detox and MAT

Turning Leaf's detox services are social only where withdrawal medications are not administered and staff monitor clients as they withdraw. This is a meaningful distinction.

For some who are dependent on alcohol, benzodiazepines, or high dose opioids unmanaged withdrawal can be medically risky. Medication assisted treatment is available within the treatment program.

The facility sits inside a 22 clinic nonprofit network serving 19 counties which creates referral pathways for those who need medical detox first. Medication managed withdrawal should be completed elsewhere before admission.

Turning Leaf serves adults across South Central Missouri and accepts private insurance, Medicaid and Medicare, and TRICARE with sliding scale options and a policy that no one is turned away for inability to pay.
