Teenagers ages 13 to 17 can receive treatment for issues such as trauma, anxiety, depression, digital wellness, low self esteem, stress, parental conflict, social isolation and unhealthy thinking. Treatment also addresses exploration of identity, substances and relationships.
Teens can experience the above issues due to hormonal changes, friend groups and college decisions. Many teens are pressured into substance use which can lead to addiction. Psychotherapy improves their ability to solve problems, properly handle difficult situations and make decisions about their future.
Addiction Treatment for Adults
Treatment is available for adults struggling with depression, anxiety, mood changes, substance use, loss of identity, relationships, family conflicts, coping mechanisms and unhealthy thinking patterns. Therapy will allow you to understand why you behave and think the way you do, allowing you to change your behaviors and thinking.
Intergenerational Trauma Women’s Group
Other services include virtual meetings by the Cup of Tea group for women of Indo-Caribbean descent looking to heal from generational trauma. Women must be 25 to 39 years old. The group fee can be paid by Healthfirst, Fidelis, NorthWellDirect, and CompPsych or is $20 per session.
The group addresses intergenerational trauma that has been passed through generations, guilt and shame, learning how generational trauma affects mental health, acquiring coping skills, and setting boundaries while reducing guilt and shame. The group meets every Monday from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.
