About Bear River Health

Residential Treatment for Structured Inpatient Care
Their residential treatment program places each client in a group where the group will bond over activities in a family style program. A nondenominational religious program is offered on Sundays for interested clients. The program offers eight unique lessons over a four week period.
The client can choose a pathway they wish to complete on their journey. Pathways include Talking Circles, Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Adult Children of Alcoholics, Life Ring, Open Speaker and No Refuge.
After treatment is complete, your resource coordinator will assist you with accessing resources. This might include help with housing, vocational counseling and finding support groups.
Detox and Outpatient Services
Other programs include a detox and withdrawal management program that is medically supervised. Also offered are outpatient treatment, an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and medication assisted treatment (MAT).
Recovery housing allows clients to transition back into the community from treatment in a structured sober living environment. Bear River Health has three recovery houses, two for men in Gaylord and Charlevoix, and one for women in Petoskey.
