About Adult and Teen Challenge Brainerd Campus
The Brainerd Men’s Center (BMC) is a facility dedicated to providing healing to individuals struggling with substance addiction. Tucked between the scenic pine tree forest bordering the south of Brainerd, Minnesota, the BMC hosts two of Adult and Teen Challenge’s mainstream treatment programs.
The first of these programs is the men’s residential treatment program. The BMC has space for 85 men over the age of 18 to live on campus and receive residential care from BMC staff. The second program is their outpatient care service at this location, offered to both men and women.
Giving You a Choice of Residential Care Programs
The residential treatment services for men can be further split into two programs. The first is a shorter program (the Licensed Residential Program) that runs between 45 and 90 days. In this program, patients get personalized treatment from licensed professionals in the form of therapy, counselling, and life skills training. Residents can also opt to include faith based treatment as a part of their recovery.
The second residential program is Adult and Teen Challenge’s signature long term recovery program. This program can run between 12 and 18 months, and provides residents with an intense recovery program staged over four levels. They help residents integrate into the recovery community, confront unhelpful behaviors, and lay a foundation of healthy habits and relationships meant to sustain a brighter future. They also provide extra support for those who’ve had particularly strong addictions to substances like opiates and stimulants.
Helping Residents Address Deep Issues
The long term recovery program is unique in that it gives residents a substantial opportunity to spend time dealing with deeper issues besides addiction. The counselling provides a safe space to process and become free of shameful feelings and deep trauma. Additionally, they’re equipped to provide comfort, support, and training to people with particular burdens (such as a history of homelessness).
