About AdCare Outpatient at South Kingstown
Situated in South Kingstown, Rhode Island, AdCare Outpatient served as a detox, outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment center for anyone struggling with drug and alcohol addictions. This program was not designed for people needing 24-hour supervision, such as you would find at a residential treatment center. This center has closed, but other facilities nearby may offer similar services.
Therapeutic Modalities
At this location therapists applied methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. They also offered telehealth outpatient services for anybody who couldn’t make it to the center for whatever reason. Something unique that I liked is that on the fourth Wednesday of each month, they had a friends and family meeting.
Medication Assisted Treatment and Counseling
They offered medication assisted treatment using medications like Suboxone and Vivitrol. These medications were combined with evidence-based counseling to treat both the physical and mental sides of addiction.
Specialized Services
They offered comprehensive assessments for their patients and had early recovery groups available too. Their family support services helped entire families get on the same page, while their individual, group and family counseling sessions offered support as well.
They even had specialized programs for veterans, first responders and impaired professionals. I like this because it shows that they cared about helping underserved populations get the treatment that they need.
