Intensive Outpatient Services

The Horizons IOP requires participation four days per week for approximately three hours each day and is reviewed annually by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.
Treatment combines individual therapy, group therapy and family counseling using evidence based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and the matrix model, relapse prevention and 12 step facilitation.
The practice specializes in treating opioid addictions involving heroin, fentanyl and prescription painkillers as well as alcohol use disorder, with a philosophy that focuses on creating a long lasting recovery.
Medication Assisted Treatment
The practice offers a medication assisted treatment program for individuals with opioid use disorder, including buprenorphine and naltrexone. Prescribing with medical staff is available for withdrawal management. Treatment also addresses co-occurring mental health conditions including mood disorders and anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder, PTSD and ADHD.
