About Texas Native Health (formerly Urban Inter-Tribal Center of Texas)
Texas Native Health is an AAAHC-accredited behavioral health and addiction treatment center serving Native American and Alaska Native communities. They assist clients across the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex in Texas.
The center offers individual, family and group counseling for substance use disorders, trauma and co-occurring conditions. Rooted in cultural identity and community connection, Texas Native Health blends traditional Native healing practices with traditional clinical care to support lasting recovery.
Culturally Grounded Addiction Treatment in Dallas
Texas Native Health specializes in addiction counseling for alcohol and drug use disorders, with a focus on culturally responsive care for Indigenous populations. Licensed therapists provide outpatient behavioral health services for all ages, with referrals available for medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and inpatient rehabilitation.
Treatment integrates Native ceremonies and traditions alongside Western clinical approaches. Group options include AA meetings, Healing Circles, Elder's Circles, and Women's Groups to create space for community recovery. Sobriety support extends to sober living coordination and Narcan training for harm reduction.
Trauma-Informed and Holistic Healing
The behavioral health team addresses historical and intergenerational trauma using trauma-informed care principles. Sessions may incorporate chronic pain management, stress reduction and tobacco cessation.
Getting Started with Care
Texas Native Health provides in-person services at its Dallas facility with free on-site parking. Telehealth is available throughout Texas. The center is a Patient-Centered Medical Home with over 50 years of service to Native communities.
Insurance accepted includes Medicaid, Medicare, private plans and Indian funding. Sliding scale financial assistance is available based on income.
