About Newport Academy on North Hunters
Newport Academy is a private, nonprofit teen residential treatment center with facilities in Northern and Southern California, including the facility in Orange. The academy treats teens and young adults (12-18) with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders, including eating disorders. This location sits on 1.7 acres and offers inpatient and outpatient treatment programs.
You can pay for your teen’s treatment using private insurance, including out-of-network options. The academy has dedicated specialists who’ll work with you to ensure treatment is covered. Depending on your health insurance, treatment may be covered up to 100%. The Orange facility is about 12 miles from downtown Anaheim and 20 miles from Newport Beach.
Experiencing Transformation in Addiction Treatment
I noticed that although some of the feedback is mixed, many praised the treatment and felt the experience was transformative. Youngsters mentioned feeling supported and seen, and felt they made progress in their family relationships and mental health. Others mentioned satisfaction with the staff engagement, ongoing check-ins, family therapy, and their newfound coping skills learned in the program.
Residential Cottages
Teens stay in residential cottages in a tranquil setting. This facility has Italian stone accents, dark hardwood finishings, and a custom-built fireplace.
There are nearby nature preserves and parks, and the program includes outdoor and group activities. I like that the teens engage in the integrated, licensed academic program to maintain their academic progress.
