About Mental Health Systems
TURN Behavioral Health Services was known previously as Mental Health Systems (MHS). It is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization offering outpatient behavioral health and addiction treatment in Colton, California.
They provide intensive outpatient programs (IOP), standard outpatient therapy and integrated care for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Their mission is to deliver compassionate, evidence based support tailored to each person’s journey toward lasting recovery and wellness.
Addiction Recovery and Dual Diagnosis Treatment
The core specialty at TURN Colton is treating addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders with a focus on outpatient care. They offer both an IOP and regular outpatient sessions with programs like the Matrix Model designed specifically for stimulant use. These are bolstered by evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, trauma counseling, rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT) and a 12-step orientation.
During sessions, clients engage in individual and group therapy, family counseling and peer support. Treatment works to uncover underlying trauma, build life skills, strengthen relapse prevention and support reintegration through discharge and reentry planning. For many, the journey unfolds in a sober and safe social setting with access to case management and wrapping services to address multiple needs.
Outreach and Specialized Support Programs
TURN also offers focused services for underserved populations including veterans and people experiencing homelessness. These programs are woven into the outpatient and recovery framework to ensure clients facing additional barriers receive targeted support.
Typical sessions in these specialty tracks may include stabilizing support services like housing or transportation assistance (e.g., monthly bus passes), peer mentoring and life-skills development alongside therapeutic work. The goal is to provide holistic care that bridges treatment gaps for those with overlapping crises.
Where Care Happens and How to Access It
TURN serves adults and young adults including individuals with co-occurring disorders, veterans and people experiencing homelessness throughout the Inland Empire region from its Colton, CA outpatient clinic. Care is offered in person with some components of outpatient flexibility.
TURN is staffed with clinicians experienced in behavioral health and addiction treatment, adhering to evidence-based standards and recognized care models. As a nonprofit, they participate in state-funded programs and accept private pay or self-pay though insurance acceptance may vary so verification is advised.
