About Solano Recovery Project
The Solano Recovery Project (SRP) is a unique, community driven nonprofit organization that provides a meeting space, recovery resources, and recovery training classes in Fairfield, California.
Their meeting space, Unity Hall, was started by a core group of individuals who had personal experience with addiction recovery and identified certain needs in the Fairfield community. The SRP addresses these needs by providing an affordable space for support groups to meet, resources for those planning the next steps on their recovery journeys, and affordable aftercare and guidance.
Offering Several Recovery Training Programs
One of the unique ways in which they provide aftercare support is by facilitating training programs that help you gain a better understanding of addiction and the psychological factors around it. Their Science of Addiction Recovery track helps participants better understand how substances affect the brain.
This type of program helps individuals help you make better decisions for long term recovery and allow you to form healthier beliefs about yourself and others. To assist further, they offer non clinical mentorship connections.
Normalizing Supportive Friendships
Another one of the SRP’s unique elements is that, besides their training, mentorship, and meeting spaces, they have a Recovery Cafe. This unique eatery is there to form a culture of positive socializing among peers on the pathway to recovery. This can be a great place to form friendships with like minded people.
