About New Directions
New Directions provides collaborative substance use treatment in Stockton, California. They offer multiple program lengths, depending on the individual’s needs. The flexibility is also beneficial for clients who have work and family obligations and may need a shorter treatment plan.
An Intensive Treatment Program
New Directions works with you to overcome addiction. Clients work through recovery, attending almost 50 hours of activities and treatment every week. Residents must remain there at all times unless they have an approved appointment, such as a court or a medical visit.
Guests have an assigned counselor who guides them and helps them throughout the program. They address the root causes of addiction and other topics targeted at lasting sobriety. Guests discuss how they became addicted and learn about the disease and how it may affect thinking skills and relationships.
They partner with the team to design a specific treatment plan that targets their symptoms and goals. New Directions understands that men and women often have different challenges with addiction. They offer separate programs to help residents focus on these without distractions.
Assistance With Life Skills
Along with treatment planning, they also include parenting and nutrition classes, connections to vocational training, employment readiness preparation, and academic education enhancement. These skills may help residents have more independence and a better chance at lasting sobriety after treatment.
The staff understands that addiction affects the entire family. They provide family reunification instruction to support mending relationships and building a supportive network for recovery.
They also encourage family participation throughout treatment. New Directions is conveniently located not far from downtown Stockton.
