About MAAC Nosotros Substance Abuse Treatment
Metropolitan Area Advisory Committee on Anti-Poverty of San Diego County, Inc. (MAAC) is an inclusive nonprofit organization focused on helping people build the lives they want. They provide addiction treatment through their Nosotros men’s recovery home. The facility can provide services to individuals on California’s Medicaid.
Residential Care Designed for Intensive Needs
The Nosotros men’s recovery home (like its sister location, Casa De Milagros) hosts a residential program designed with the needs of people with higher intensity co-occurring diagnoses in mind. Nosotros has room for up to 17 men aged 18 and older. Residents live in dormitory style accommodation and can access a staff member for help at all hours, seven days a week.
In the care program (offered in both English and Spanish), the staff can employ cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and solution oriented counselling sessions in the residents’ individual therapy sessions. These modalities help residents address and overcome addictive behaviors and help them develop more productive coping mechanisms, thought patterns and self belief. Residents also get medically assisted treatment and assistance with managing medication if necessary.
Help Within MAAC’s Broader Network
MAAC offers an incredible array of social services, ranging from assistance with finding housing and employment to referrals for outpatient treatment and extended sober living homes.
They can even connect people to professionals who can help with certain legal matters. The goal is to help clients be able to live an independent and healthy lifestyle that is free from substance use.
