About Life House Recovery Homes
If you’ve completed an addiction treatment program but feel you need additional sobriety support, Life House Recovery Homes can help. This nonprofit group has several transitional homes for adult men and women in Hayward, California, and the surrounding area. Support is extended to women with children.
Staff focus on creating a welcoming, group-like atmosphere. This is supported with group meetings and 12 Steps integration, requiring residents to come together for house operations and personal support. All of this is designed to assist you in returning to your community ready to live in sobriety.
Note that this isn’t a treatment program and does not provide direct care.
Keep In Touch with Recovery
There are a handful of requirements for potential residents to meet. Chief among them is attending three to six NA or AA meetings each week and finding a sponsor from one of these groups within 30 days. Doing so ensures you’re still involved with the recovery process during your stay and greatly expands your support system through community involvement.
Unlike a residential program, transitional living homes come with a higher degree of freedom. By requiring this level of support group involvement, they’re helping you balance your recovery needs with your daily responsibilities, like school and work. It’s a valuable practice before you return home.
Affordable Housing
Since this isn’t a treatment program, they don’t work with insurance. However, they keep their fees affordable. The overall cost varies based on a number of factors, such as which house you’re in and if you have any children with you. However, the cost of utilities is included, and conveniences like washers and dryers are included onsite.
A Convenient Location
In preparation for your return home, you may want to spend time out in the greater community. Thankfully, these homes are within easy reach of public transportation to make it easy to get to your support groups and other resources. Take advantage of these transportation options to make the most out of your time in the program.
