About Horizon Services Project Eden Outpatient
Project Eden is part of Horizon Services in Hayward, California. They offer substance use programs for youth and young adults. They also provide prevention, intervention and treatment to help guests overcome the risks associated with addiction and thrive in sober lifestyles.
Prevention Services for LGBTQIA+
They offer prevention services in a safe and supportive setting for guests struggling with mental health conditions or substance use issues. Guests can meet their friends from the community and discuss challenges that affect them and contribute to their drug or alcohol use as well as take part in sober activities that keep them engaged and having fun without substances. One of the featured activities is the Annual Pride Prom where participants can relax and immerse themselves in a festive sober environment.

I appreciate that Project Eden believes in helping the whole person rather than only targeting the symptoms of addiction. They provide counseling and education that address the physical, mental and emotional aspects of healing.
Their individual counseling provides a secure private setting where guests can explore issues related to a sober lifestyle. Guests work collaboratively with counselors to achieve milestones and become part of the recovery community. I also like that their treatment and prevention services are trauma informed which can be critical for some clients.
Their group counseling allows people who share similar challenges to come together and learn from one another. You can go to those sessions to receive peer support and discuss healthy lifestyles. They’ll also teach you important life skills to help you become more independent in recovery.
I think it’s fantastic that they also offer family counseling sessions to help clients mend relationships that may be affected by addiction. Loved ones can receive insightful education related to substance use and learn how to set healthy boundaries and be a supportive network for recovery.
