About Chemical Dependency Health Services CDHS
Chemical Dependency Health Services (CDHS) in Arlington, Texas, is an outpatient opiate treatment facility. Medication assisted treatment is available to those addicted to heroin, pain pill, or other opiates.
The clinic operates under the belief that each client is a unique creation reflective of the One who created us and that each of us deserve dignity and respect. They've been accredited by The Joint Commission.
Medication Assisted Treatment
The clinic prescribes methadone and Suboxone to eliminate withdrawals and cravings that clients with opioid use disorder have. Their pharmacotherapy is based on neurobiological research to effectively curb physical symptoms of addiction using chemical agent interactions. In addition to medication, you will have counseling and therapy sessions.
The length of time clients take methadone/suboxone depends on their situation. If you’re being prescribed pain pills because of chronic pain, you will have a longer path to medically supervised withdrawal. The typical time span is 1.5-2 years.
Counseling and Therapy Sessions
We always have issues or concerns that we are not comfortable talking about in a group session. You’ll have individual counseling that’s private and confidential.
Group counseling will allow you to connect with peers who are experiencing the same struggles as you. During therapy, clients learn how to prevent relapses, life skills, and communication skills.
Medical Treatment and Lab Work
The clinic is staffed with a doctor, nurses, and a medical assistant who can treat you for any medical concerns that you have. Lab work provided include pregnancy testing, lab work for TB, HIV, STD, and Hepatitis C and education about any positive outcomes.
