About Zona Seca
Zona Seca, which means “dry zone” in Spanish, is located in Santa Barbara, California. They provide required treatment and courses for offenders who have been ordered by the court to complete the services offered.
Youth Offender Program
The youth offender program allows young people to avoid being charged with a misdemeanor and losing their license. The program requires five hours or less. Youth are expected to be substance free during the 24 hours before group meetings. If the youth is not enrolled within seven days of court referral, a late fee is charged.
DUI Courses for Substance Use
First time DUI offenders can complete the program required by the court at this certified facility. Programs include 12 hour education, three month, or nine month options. California Title 9 requires the educational programs to emphasize alcohol and drug awareness. You will attend class once per week for two hours. The programs are only available to Santa Barbara residents and require sobriety during the 24
hours before class.
Batterer’s Intervention Counseling
Batterer’s intervention counseling is a family violence treatment program. This service is offered in English and Spanish. Classes include substance use counseling and therapy. The program is two hours per week for 52 weeks and costs $1,560.00. Domestic violence frequently occurs while under the influence of substances.
Substance User’s Drug Diversion Program
The drug diversion program accepts clients who have been referred by the California court system who were under the influence of a substance and/or in possession of a substance, or for public intoxication. You will be required to complete 10 individual therapy sessions and 10 educational sessions, and attend 10 12-step meetings. Random drug tests are administered and the cost for this program is $1,000.
