About Shannon West Homeless Youth Center
Shannon West Homeless Youth Center, operated by HELP of Southern Nevada, is a state-certified outpatient treatment program serving youth and young adults ages 18 to 24 who are experiencing homelessness or housing instability in Las Vegas.
The center provides early outpatient substance use and co-occurring treatment alongside safe housing, intensive case management and life-skills support. Shannon West combines recovery services with practical stability-building tools like education assistance, employment support, financial literacy and help transitioning to independent living.
Housing-First Recovery for Young Adults in Las Vegas
Shannon West offers a wraparound model that pairs stable housing with outpatient behavioral health care. With capacity for up to 150 youth, the center addresses substance use and mental health challenges while helping young adults build the foundation for long-term independence.
Treatment is solution-focused and client-centered, including screening and assessment, individualized case planning and outpatient co-occurring care through individual and group sessions. The program targets both immediate recovery needs and the root causes of instability, with referrals for medication management and ongoing housing stability planning.
Life Skills and Self-Sufficiency Support
Beyond clinical treatment, Shannon West emphasizes practical skill-building to support sustained recovery. Staff provides education and employment assistance, financial literacy training and activities-of-daily-living coaching to help young adults transition successfully into independent apartment living.
