About Phoenix House Round Rock Counseling Center
Since 1995, Phoenix House Texas in Round Rock, Texas has helped teens and young adults overcome substance abuse through holistic, evidence based care. However, in 2023, they ceased their counseling and assessment services in favor of continuing their education and prevention programs. These services are offered throughout the region and may still provide referrals to treatment centers.
This program used a strengths based approach to empower participants to make changes, which continues to form the basis of what they do. Clients reported that they felt heard throughout the process.
It’s also worth noting that these services are free of charge.
Augmenting Treatment with School Based Services
While this and other Phoenix House Texas counseling centers are no longer offering counseling, you or a loved one can still make use of their prevention and education services as part of sobriety maintenance. After all, recovery is a lifelong process, so utilizing resources like these can only help as you experience new challenges.
What I find great about this organization is that they can meet with teens in schools or their communities. It takes the onus of transportation to and from a center off of them or their parents while reaching out simply and effectively.
Playing Off Strengths
Prevention takes more than someone telling you what you should and shouldn’t do, which this group recognizes. Where their program excels is in exploring each client’s personal strengths and interests and showing how they can be utilized for relapse and substance use prevention. Knowing that it comes from you is extremely encouraging, something you can use to further fuel your sobriety.
