About El Dorado Texas Community Center
The Eldorado Texas Community Center in Pharr, Texas, is an outpatient methadone clinic that treats opioid use disorders. You will undergo an assessment to determine any mental, emotional, psychological, behavioral, and substance use disorders.
Assessments follow the standardized Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) to provide your diagnosis. The clinic offers a federal sliding fee scale program for those who are unable to pay for treatment.
Medication Assisted Detox
The clinic offers medication assisted treatment (MAT) and ambulatory detox for those with opioid use disorders using methadone. Medication is offered in conjunction with evidence based counseling.
You will attend counseling in group and individual sessions. Group sessions allow you to learn from others as you share experiences, failures, and how you overcame those failures.
Clients also meet with the doctor every other month or when requested. Patients report that requested doctor visits are always honored quickly. Medication dosing occurs by friendly nurses.
The stigma associated with methadone is well-known, but we read reviews from clients stating that it has saved their lives. They no longer have to stand out in the cold waiting to get a fix. They state that methadone eliminates the temptation of using opioids and has made them more productive human beings.
