About Changing Tides Treatment Centers – Closed
Changing Tides Treatment in Ventura, California, offered residential treatment, outpatient treatment and a sober living home. The center was situated on a beautiful California beach but is now closed.
Sub Acute Detoxification
The facility offered sub acute detox for clients who needed to clean their bodies of substances. This process combined therapy, counseling and pharmacological methods to stabilize the client’s body and mind.
Once stabilized, clients could proceed with residential treatment. It offered many different therapy types, including fun activities that provided relaxation and the opportunity to destress. Clients with co-occurring disorders were treated using medication assisted treatment.
Multiple Levels of Outpatient Treatment
Partial hospitalization programs treated clients who needed medical oversight. Medical detox was an option for those who had not already completed residential treatment.
Intensive outpatient programs were available to those who did not need detoxification and did not need medical oversight. The program used the 12 step methodology and educated clients about spirituality, relapse prevention and managing urges and cravings. General outpatient treatment was also available for those not needing intensive treatment.
Sober Living for Successful Recoveries
A sober living home was available for clients who were not able to return home to a sober living situation. The home had house rules and required residents to do chores. Most residents were transitioning out of residential treatment.
Mental health therapists and addiction specialists were available to provide evidence based therapies.
The center used several modern treatments including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and neurofeedback. Alternative approaches such as recreational therapy, yoga therapy and surf therapy were also utilized.
Educating the Client’s Family
The parents and children/family program worked to mend broken relationships and educate families about addiction and recovery. Families attended educational seminars that taught them about communication, boundary setting and healing the family.
