About Treatment Trends Confront Program Treating Addiction
The Treatment Trends’ Allentown Outpatient Clinic in Pennsylvania is a nonprofit organization that treats alcohol and substance use disorders. The clinic accepts Medicaid and county funding along with select commercial insurances.
Intensive Outpatient Programs
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) can be suitable for those who’ve already completed inpatient treatment or need stability from a relapse. The program offers morning sessions from 8:30 am to 11:30 am or evening sessions from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Clients are required to partake in a minimum of nine hours each week.
In order to maintain recovery, it’s pertinent to identify what triggers us to use substances. The program helps ID your internal and external triggers, educate you about the effects of addiction on your brain, and how to prevent relapses.
One focus is on how to recognize sober activities and how to make new relationships with sober individuals. The clinic partners with local providers who can provide you with medication assisted treatment if this needs to be part of your treatment plan.
General Outpatient Programs
General outpatient programs are less intensive and require one to eight hours per week with the same meeting hours as IOP. Sessions address topics such as recovery, grief and loss, internal and external conflicts, impulsive versus compulsive, and Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.
Early Intervention Programs
If you’re concerned you could become an addict, early intervention programs would benefit you. They’ll teach you about addiction, including contrasts between social use, misuse, abuse, and physical dependency. You’ll also learn how to make changes in your life and decisions, identify healthy relationships, cognitive distortions, and communication.
