About The Oaks House Sober Living
The Oaks Sober Living House in Thousand Oaks, California, offers a structured environment for those with substance use disorders. The home is owned and managed by individuals who are in recovery from substance use, have experience with substance use disorders, and professionals.
With substance use overdoses being the leading cause of death in Americans under the age of 50 the house gives those in early recovery the opportunity to live in a sober and structured environment.
Gender Specific Housing
While there is gender specific housing for men and women, co-ed socialization is available. They offer an in ground swimming pool, jacuzzi, hammocks, outdoor lounge areas, house groups, hiking, and 12 step meetings.
Residents are furnished meals, fitness memberships, and transportation as needed. A staff member is on site and available for support 24 hours per day seven days per week.
Residents are held accountable for following their substance use treatment plan and working the 12 step methods. Life skills that will help residents transition into the community are taught including fitness, nutrition, money management, and coaching for education and career opportunities.
Referral for Substance Use Treatment
Staff are not addiction treatment specialists. If you need detox, residential care, or outpatient treatment you will be referred to a substance use treatment facility that partners with the Oak House.
Sometimes we need time alone to meditate and reflect on our lives. Several outdoor areas offer relaxation, hiking, and being in nature are less than three miles away. Wildwood Regional Park is a wooded area with hiking trails and picnic spots. Paradise Falls features a 40 foot waterfall in a canyon and hiking trails.
