About The Journey Recovery Center
The Journey Recovery Center in San Angelo, Texas is a drug and alcohol rehab facility offering detoxification and residential treatment for adults including specialized care for pregnant or parenting women.Â
Operated by the Alcohol and Drug Awareness Center for the Concho Valley, it provides medically supervised detox and separate residential tracks for men and women with programming that supports mothers with children under age three. The center’s mission is rooted in evidence based, trauma informed, family focused care designed to address both substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health concerns.
Detox and Residential Treatment for Addiction
Treatment begins with detoxification and withdrawal management in a medically supervised setting for up to 12 people followed by transitions into short-term residential settings. Clients may then move into longer residential treatment programs—separate for men and women—with additional support geared toward family needs and mother-child bonding.
Clients can expect individual and group counseling, relapse prevention training and programs tailored for women including parenting education and on-site childcare for children under three. The facility also supports clients with dual diagnosis issues and encourages family involvement and personal adjustment goals at all levels of care.
There are gender-separated housing wings, a children’s wing and childcare for mothers, community rooms, a dining hall, activity building spaces and on-site laundry. The team provides continuing care and relapse prevention training with resources for family involvement and local community reintegration services.
