If you are experiencing an emergency health crisis, you can walk into the hospital 24 hours per day and seven days per week. Services are available in English and Spanish.
Comprehensive Admission Process
Upon admission, your treatment team will create a patient profile for you through evaluations. Your profile will contain previous disorder diagnoses, anti-social behavioral issues and addictions.
You will be asked if you have suffered any psychological abuse and the dynamics of your family will be evaluated. Your medical history will be included, and you will be given a thorough medical exam so that your team knows of any health problems that could be contributing to your addiction.
The hospital is certified to treat clients who are referred by the courts or the judicial system. Treatment is available for substance use addictions, eating disorder addictions and co-occurring disorders.
Helpful Addiction Treatments and Therapies
You will receive individualized psychotherapy, trauma therapy and psychotropic medication. Other therapies include behavior modification and CBT. You’ll learn about new ways you can manage your stress and change negative thinking patterns influencing your substance use.
Southern Winds Hospital is conveniently located a few minutes away from Miami International Airport. The hospital is also not far from the East Coast Buffer Water Preserve Area, where you can spend time relaxing after your treatment sessions.
