About Operation PAR Largo
The Largo Campus of Operation Parental Awareness and Responsibility (PAR) in Florida was established after the founder, Shirley Coletti, realized her teenager was experimenting with drugs. Children, adults, and families who have been affected by substance use can come to PAR for rehabilitation and support.
Referral for Detoxification
To eliminate substances from your system, you can undergo medical detox which safely allows you to withdraw without the mental and physical pain that occurs “cold turkey”. This is an inpatient supervised process that uses medication assisted treatments. You can be referred to the Highpoint Campus to receive this service.
Residential Treatment for Continued Recovery
After detox you can be referred to the Largo Campus for residential treatment. Here you will continue with medication management, individual and gender specific group therapy, behavioral intervention and anger management therapy.
Recreation and arts therapy will give you a chance to actively engage with your peers and learn things to replace substance use with. Vocational education is also available to help prepare you for employment after treatment.
Outpatient Treatments and Education
Clients can be referred to outpatient services for continued treatment. These services are available to adults, youth and their families.
You will participate in individual and group therapy which will help you continue to develop relapse prevention strategies and receive support from peers. Family counseling is also offered, which can help you and your family have a stronger bond and understanding of how to proceed during your recovery.
HIV and Hepatitis risk education, life management skills, psychiatric services and a physical exam are also available in the outpatient treatment program. After you have finished outpatient treatment you can be given referrals for aftercare services. A reviewer appreciated the wide variety of resources available for recovery here.
Prevention Services for Children and Youth
If clients have discovered their child is or may be thinking about using substances, you can engage with them in prevention services. This includes addiction prevention workshops, parenting education and training programs, and life skills training for kindergarten through twelfth grade.
