About McLean County Center For Human Services
McLean County Center for Human Services is a behavioral health and addiction treatment center in Bloomington, Illinois that offers comprehensive mental health and substance use services for all ages. The non profit agency provides outpatient counseling, psychiatric services, 24 hour crisis support, and a dedicated Recovery Program with specialized youth outreach in schools and homes.
Urgent Care and Crisis Care When You Need It
Clients begin with screening and intake services to assess their needs and connect with the appropriate level of care. For those in crisis, the 24 hour mobile Crisis Team provides on site counseling throughout McLean County, while the free Behavioral Health Urgent Care serves adults 18 and older who don't require medical support. These entry points allow individuals to access care when and where they need it most.
Programs incorporate evidence based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy, delivered through individual, group and family counseling. The Recovery Program offers strength based, person centered services with peer support from "A New Horizon" recovery community center, addressing co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders. Meanwhile, youth outreach brings counseling and case management directly into schools, homes and community settings for school aged children and adolescents.
Serving All Ages for Prevention and Treatment
I appreciate that there's something for everyone here, between their outpatient counseling, psychiatric services, 24 hour mobile crisis support, Recovery Program, and youth outreach. They serve school age children, adolescents, adults and seniors including individuals with co occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
The treatment center accepts Medicaid, Medicare and private insurance, with sliding scales available for those without insurance. No one is denied care based on ability to pay, which I find impressive and critical.
Treatment begins with a screening and intake assessment, which can be initiated by phone or in-person at the Bloomington, Illinois location. The admissions team helps verify insurance benefits, explains available programs, and determines the most appropriate level of care for each individual.
