About Jericho Project
Jericho Project is an addiction treatment center with long-term residential programming focused on those with chemical dependency and criminal justice involvement. Please note that they don't have a mixed gender facility and aren't open to clients without criminal justice background or substance use issues. It's located in Brisbane, California.
The year-long program includes tightly structured residential phases, outpatient classes and wrap-around services. Clients often highlight the disciplined routine and clear residential phases that help build real responsibility and lasting change.
Training Houses for Guys
Jericho Project delivers a one-year residential treatment program with three housing phases: initial Training Houses (for under 3 months), 18-unit senior apartments, and alumni apartments for aftercare and maintenance. They complement this with outpatient services including group meetings, structured classes, and day-to-day activities for those in transition. All levels include 24-hour supervision, daily drug screening, strict routines, chores, and expectations for personal accountability.
Therapy and Recreation
The program employs Gorski-CENAPS relapse prevention and a developmental recovery framework that moves clients through stabilization to maintenance. Therapy includes cognitive, affective, behavioral and social approaches alongside vocational training, educational opportunities and physical/spiritual development. Structured routines, peer support and life-skills coaching are built in throughout all phases.
The campus includes multiple residential homes and apartments, vocational facilities, gym space, classrooms and outdoor amenities. As clients advance through the phases, they gain more independence and may interact more with urban resources and offsite opportunities.
Logistics
The full one-year residential tuition is approximately $66,000. Jericho Project doesn't take insurance, but they offer payment plans and have a scholarship or sponsorship program for those who cannot afford the full cost.
Start by applying for the residential program and be assessed for suitability in terms of substance use history and criminal justice involvement. There's a required commitment to the full year, participation in all structured activities and compliance with policies like the stabilization period for 90 days. Early in treatment, contact with family and electronic communication is limited until specific phases are reached.
