About Gateway Healthcare
Gateway Healthcare, part of Brown University Health, is Rhode Island's largest nonprofit behavioral health provider offering substance use and mental health treatment for adults and children across the state.
Services include outpatient counseling, intensive outpatient programming, peer recovery coaching, medication assisted treatment and psychiatric rehabilitation.
Cooccurring Care with Medication Assisted Treatment
Gateway specializes in treating cooccurring disorders, addressing substance use and mental health conditions together with coordinated personalized care.
This integrated approach recognizes that addiction and behavioral health challenges often overlap, and treating both simultaneously leads to stronger more sustainable outcomes.
Treatment draws on evidence based therapies including individual counseling, group therapy, family sessions, psychoeducation and medication assisted treatment when clinically appropriate.
Intensive Outpatient Program
Gateway's IOP offers structured programming for individuals needing more support than traditional outpatient care. The program typically runs three hours per day, at least three days per week, and combines individual therapy, group counseling, family involvement, and psychoeducation with pharmacological support when recommended.
