About Denton Freedom House
Denton Freedom House is in Aubry, Texas, and offers a faith based adult sober living home for men. The women’s home and food pantry are located in Denton.
Phases of Substance Use Program
The program operates in three phases. The first phase lasts a minimum of six months and focuses on residents initiating a relationship with God through Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Different work centers assist in helping each resident get a full-time job.
Phase two lasts for six months. Residents pay a small fee for the program while they work on saving money and fulfilling personal needs. The last phase is encouraged and has no end date. A home in town houses residents as a third phase sober house.
Faith Based & Medication Free
The center is not a medical organization and doesn’t offer psychiatric care. Clients are advised to complete any treatment they need before entering their programs. Medications for psychological disorders are not allowed. Only life essential medications such as insulin are permitted at the homes.
You will share a bedroom with three to four other residents. You won’t be allowed to have contact outside of the home for 30 days. After this time period you will be allowed to speak to immediate family members and mentors. The center advises that applicants must be accepting of discipline and being told when they can use the restroom, shower, and have free time.
Zera Coffee House
DFH owns a coffee house that contributes to the first six months of the program when residents are not charged. Zera means “seeds” in Hebrew and Zera Coffee House is sowing seeds of transformation through residents who are free from the bondage of sin and addiction. It seems that the coffee house can be an exemplary way to provide sober living for our community.
