About Coastal Behavioral Healthcare Compass Center – Closed
Coastal Behavioral Healthcare’s Compass Center location in Punta Gorda, Florida, provided outpatient mental healthcare and addiction treatment for adults of all ages. They treated substance use disorders (SUD) as well as patients with dual diagnoses. They served the Punta Gorda community for 40 years before closing.
The facility was close to downtown Punta Gorda and the Peace River. Whether you wanted to enjoy a peaceful waterfront view or grab a bite at one of the many local cafes, you only had to travel a mile or two to find recovery friendly places to relax after appointments.
Treatment for Opioid and Alcohol Use Disorders
Adults facing issues with opioid use had access to medication assisted treatment (MAT) using Vivitrol. The Vivitrol treatment program also helped clients in recovery from alcohol use disorders. Medication was combined with counseling to help support long-term recovery.
Specialized SUD Treatment for Women
Pregnant women and women with dependent children participated in addiction treatment designed to meet their unique needs. A combination of individual and group therapy offered women the support and guidance they needed to recover while building stronger relationships with their kids.
Mental Health Targeted Case Management
Most individuals in recovery need help that goes beyond addiction counseling. Targeted Case Management (TCM) was a service offered to help clients tap into medical and social services in the community. Staff were dedicated to providing community based care that made it as easy as possible for clients to work with local resources.
Coastal Behavioral Healthcare worked with many insurance providers, including Medicaid. They were committed to helping underserved populations access addiction treatment and offered sliding fee discounts for clients who didn’t have insurance coverage.
