About Hannahs House
In Hanford, California, a town known for its slow paced style and small town charm, you’ll find Hannah’s House, a residential substance use disorder (SUD) treatment program for pregnant and parenting women. Opened in 2007 by Champions Recovery this is the only place in Kings County that offers comprehensive residential care designed specifically for women struggling with heroin use who are also working on parenting.
Who Qualifies for Help
Pregnant women are prioritized for care especially if they’ve been injecting recently. The health risks for heroin use disorders are higher for both mom and baby. They also help women who are trying to reunite with their children during recovery.
Women who have already detoxed are also welcome here. The program can help treat any SUD so it reaches a broad range of women.
A Place to Learn
If you start recovery here you’ll get a chance to rebuild your life. You’ll learn how to manage money and care for your home and family. Parenting classes will help you connect with your kids and feel more confident in your role as mom.
Another feature of the program is an opportunity to get an education whether that means getting a GED or taking college classes. They’re big on helping you prepare for a sustainable career.
How Their SUD Treatment Program Works
Women who live here commit to staying in the program for at least a year to focus on SUD recovery and mental healthcare. Some women stay in the program longer.
Not only do they help you beat addiction but if you have a dual diagnosis they provide mental health care. It’s pretty common to struggle with both at the same time.
How the Program Helps Families
Addition impacts the whole family and this program helps the kids. They offer therapeutic childcare and use recreational and art therapies to help the little ones work through emotional issues.
Hannah’s House offers structure and hope in a beautifully designed residential facility. For women in recovery from an SUD it seems like a good place to begin a new life.
