About BHS Family Health Center Pacifica House
The Pacifica House of BHS Family Health Center in Hawthorne, California, offers inpatient treatment for substance use. They are licensed by the California Department of Health Services and are CARF accredited.
Inpatient Treatment for Substance Use
If you need medical detoxification treatment you will be referred to the Pomona or Long Beach center. Inpatient treatment lasts three to six months. You will receive education and therapeutic interventions to ensure a stable path for recovery.
You can receive assistance with personal issues such as family problems, how to function in society, legal issues and vocational concerns. Resolution of personal issues can help prevent a relapse after treatment.
As a resident in treatment you will receive integrated medical and psychiatric care. Staff will assist you with finding a recovery support network in the community before you complete treatment. This normally consists of attending support groups such as AA or NA.
Medication Assisted Treatment for Addiction
The center offers medication assisted treatment (MAT) for substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders. Common co-occurring mental health disorders include anxiety, bipolar disorders, major depressive disorder and PTSD.
Researchers have found that medication assisted treatment reduces the risk of overdoses. Medications are effective in assuring clients continue treatment, reducing the risk of being infected by a disease, and reducing the risk of being involved with the criminal justice system.
Referral for Outpatient Treatment
After completion of inpatient treatment you will be referred to outpatient treatment. If we can continue treatment and/or support groups for a year we have a better chance of successful recovery. Outpatient treatment lasts three to nine months. The number of days you attend sessions each week will depend on the level of intensity you need.
