About Betty Hardwick Center
The Betty Hardwick Center is based in Abilene, Texas, and provides community support for mental health challenges, substance use disorders, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. Their outpatient mental health services support children and adults, and there is a peer network for veterans that brings awareness and support to military mental health resources.
The goal is to set you up for success and help you have a better quality of life. It’s neat that Red Bud Park isn’t too far off.
Substance Use Services
The Betty Hardwick Center strives to help you find stability, learn healthy coping mechanisms, and make a long lasting recovery. The intensive outpatient program (IOP) supports individuals with a substance use disorder or dual diagnosis. You can find support through individual and group counseling, educational groups, and referrals to additional community groups like AA and Celebrate Recovery.
Supporting Youth Mental Health
Services for children and adolescents are family focused and use the recovery and resiliency (TRR) model. There are a plethora of services that can include a crisis hotline, case management, collaborating on a treatment plan, and medication management. Skills training is another resource that can help young adults develop more independence. These can take place in a home or school setting.
