Addiction & Psychotherapy Services in Austin, Texas, is a privately owned clinic that’s owned and operated by one family for over two generations. They started up in 1982. The clinic specializes in outpatient medication assisted treatment for opiate/opioid use and co-occurring disorders. You’ll find them located near Great Outdoors Nursery.
Medication Assisted Treatment
The clinic offers long term and short-term medications. Medications prescribed include methadone and buprenorphine for up to six months. If a client insists, 5-to-21-day rapid tapers for both medications are available.
Co-occurring disorders are treated with medications and psychotherapy. If you have an addiction to multiple substances, polysubstance use, the clinic will treat you for addiction to the other substances as well.
Addiction Therapies and Services
Most opioid use disorders occur with prescription medication for pain. The clinic uses non medication therapies for pain including yoga, mindfulness-based meditation, and auricular acupuncture.
Group counseling is part of Addiction & Psychotherapy services. These groups are conducted by a psychiatrist, a counselor, and nurses. Since our families and friends are part of our recovery, they are welcome to attend group therapy with you.
If you’ve been diagnosed with PTSD or similar disorders, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing is the therapy used by the clinic. Physical exams and thorough lab work will uncover any additional health problems that need to be addressed.
The clinic is open on weekdays 6:00 am to 1:30 pm. Medication dispensing hours are Monday through Friday from 5:45 am to 9:30 am and 12:00 noon to 1:15 pm. You can also drop by Saturdays from 7:30 am to 10:30 am.
