About Whitney Young Jr Health Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Treatment Center
The Outpatient Addictions Treatment Center of Whitney Young Health in Albany, New York, offers outpatient care. They’re a federally qualified health center. It’s by the Empire State Trail that leads to the Hudson River.
Opioid Treatment Program
The opioid treatment program uses medication assisted treatment for avoidance of inpatient treatment. The medication reduces cravings and withdrawal symptoms while promoting normal body functions, healthy thoughts and healthy behaviors.
The clinic uses methadone, buprenorphine, and vivitrol as part of medication assisted treatment. Dosing hours are weekday mornings to noon and Saturday to 10:30 am.
Outpatient Substance Use Program
Outpatient treatment hours at the clinic are 6:30 am to 4:30 pm. Treatment is offered for clients who are using and addicted to any type of substance.
Therapy will help you reduce substance seeking behaviors and compulsive substance use. Counseling, behavioral therapies, and medications are available as treatment by physicians, psychiatrists, social workers, and mental health clinicians.
Behavioral Health Services
Most substance use co-occurs with a mental health disorder. If our underlying mental health issues are not treated, our substance use treatment will not be effective.
Mental health issues can be caused by biological factors and brain chemistry, traumatic or abusive experiences, or genetically handed down by family. The center uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and informed dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) therapies to treat clients.
Primary Care Services
Substance use has likely caused physical health issues for you. As an integrated health care center, they also offer primary care. If you seek primary care at the clinic, your care can be coordinated between medical and behavioral doctors and staff for a more effective healing experience.
