About Wedge Medical Center Frankford Avenue – Closed
Wedge Recovery Centers was a substance use recovery and mental health facility located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They promoted values of resilience and took a holistic approach to treatment, addressing the physical, mental and emotional aspects of addiction.
Former clients left testimonials about their experience and how it shaped them in positive ways. One client said, “The Wedge helps me to believe in myself.” Another stated, “...I feel like The Wedge is family and I want to give back to others.” This facility is now closed.
Outpatient Services in Philadelphia
The Wedge offered a substance use outpatient program (OP) where individuals attended counseling sessions whether group, individual or a mixture. Psychiatric evaluations and medication management were available for dual diagnosis of mental health issues and substance use disorders.
They offered medication assisted treatment (MAT) for individuals experiencing opioid addiction. MAT was also available to pregnant women or mothers.
For mental health treatment, The Wedge provided outpatient services to help individuals take on difficult emotions, life stressors and discover personal resilience. After an assessment, clients were assigned to a therapist and attended weekly sessions whether individual, group or family. Treatment length varied depending on the individual, but the ultimate goal was to gain independence and cope with mental health challenges in healthy ways.
Accepted Referrals
If you were seeking outpatient treatment after other residential programs, or court ordered treatment, The Wedge accepted referrals. They strived to meet every individual seeking care where they were in their recovery journey. The staff understood no two individuals are alike and provided individualized care to each client.
