About St Peters Addiction Recovery Center Guilderland
St Peter’s Addiction Recovery Center (SPARC) Guilderland is an inpatient addiction treatment facility in a woodsy part of Guilderland, New York. St Peter’s Health Partners was formed in 2011 by the Religious Sisters of Mercy, Daughters of Charity, and local municipalities. They’re a nonprofit health care network that offers a wide range of services.
Referral for Opioid Medication Treatment
If you need medication assisted treatment opioid services, the center can refer you to one of their partner sites that offer this treatment. Rapid access to medication assisted treatment is available through one of their emergency rooms or walk in clinics.
Referrals for Detoxification
If you need detox services, you’ll be referred to one of their emergency departments. Inpatient medically managed detox is short term to provide stabilization before referring you to the SPARC inpatient treatment center.
SPARC is a co-ed inpatient treatment facility for substance use disorders. The center offers a short-term program that lasts 28 days and features shared bedrooms and bathrooms. Though we may feel anxious at the thought of sharing our space with strangers, remember they’re here for the same reason you are.
The center doesn’t allow smoking but will provide you with nicotine replacements. Visitors aren’t allowed for maximum treatment effectiveness, but you can make two supervised five-minute calls every week.
Therapies for Substance Use Disorder
You’ll participate in individual and group therapy. During group therapy you will learn how to prevent relapses and learn/follow the 12 step methods. They’ll also teach you about the dynamics in your family and how to approve your communication skills. Cognitive behavioral therapy will help you process your thoughts, feelings, and actions. Gender specific groups are available.
Medical services will always be available to you with screening, testing, and routine care. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) may be necessary in conjunction with therapy. Medications reduce withdrawal symptoms, prevent overdose, and increase your chances for recovery.
A large courtyard will allow you to get fresh air and enjoy nature. Experiential therapy will reduce stress and anxiety with yoga and recreational activities.
