South Texas Rural Health Services, Inc. operates the Eagle Pass Wellness Center, a federally qualified health center providing outpatient substance abuse counseling and mental health services in Eagle Pass, Texas.

Outpatient Treatment and Dual Diagnosis
The Eagle Pass Wellness Center specializes in outpatient substance abuse counseling for adults and transitional age young adults, with dedicated services for clients managing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. The center offers evidence based treatment through a licensed substance abuse program backed by over 33 years of organizational experience.
Treatment combines cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and the matrix model to address patterns of use and support lasting recovery. Sessions include group therapy and relapse prevention planning, anger management and brief intervention techniques, with telehealth options available for flexible access across rural South Texas counties.
Getting Started
South Texas Rural Health Services serves clients in Eagle Pass and surrounding rural counties including Maverick and La Salle, Dimmit and Frio, Zavala and Uvalde, with in person and telehealth appointments available Monday through Friday. They are open Monday and Thursday from 9am to 6pm, and Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8am to 5pm.
The center accepts Medicaid and Medicare, private insurance and TRICARE, state financed plans and federal funding, with a sliding fee scale available based on income.
