About Sonoma County Indian Health Project Behavioral Health
Sonoma County Indian Health Project Behavioral Health (SCIHP) is a healthcare provider that has served the American Indian community in Santa Rosa, California since 1971. Their California State Certified Substance Abuse Program is available to help you recover from addiction through counseling, medication assisted treatment (MAT), and recovery groups.
SCIHP’s office is open on weekdays from 8:00am to 5:00pm with an hour for lunch. We appreciate their continued support after hours through their pager system and on-call therapist.
Opioid Prevention Program in Santa Rosa
SCIHP’s medical department provides MAT, which staffers call K’oɁdi (pronounced Koh-dee) which means “it is good” in Southern Pomo. This medications can lesson withdraws and prevent relapse.
SCIHP uses preventative measures to address opioid addictions. They work hard to protect you through outreach and education for harm reduction and opioid dependence. Local hotposts, like the Santa Rosa River Trail, offer respite from daily sessions.
Sliding Scales and Flexible Payment Options
While SCIHP works with Medicare, Medi‐Cal, and third‐party health insurance plans, many of their services are completely free for Native American patients. If you have a copay or a share of cost, you may be eligible to a sliding fee scale depending on your financial circumstances. They also extend a Purchased/Referred Care program that can further assist you with paying.
