About Advantage Care Physicians—Bronx Docs
Advantage Care Physicians took over the Saint Barnabas Hospital’s location on 149th Street and was known by most in the neighborhood as BronxDocs until it closed in 2024. It has since reopened as a full-service healthcare facility and has an addiction treatment program with outpatient options.
Individuals with substance abuse of alcohol or drugs or dealing with other addictions may find support and treatment through therapy programs or medication assisted treatment on an outpatient basis depending on their need and situation.
All Sorts of Therapy
Advantage Care Physicians has programs that include individual, group and family therapy. They also have extensive medication assisted programs that help individuals come off of whatever substances they're addicted to in a safe and less dangerous manner.
They also offer physical therapy in their network so that you can feel better and be more mobile. This can boost your confidence so you won’t rely on drugs. It’s also neat that services are available in Spanish for those who need them.
Convenient Location
Located in the middle of a busy Bronx neighborhood, this location is convenient to get to for daily or weekly appointments, has easy access to public transit for you and your loved ones or support network to get to the addiction clinic.
Some Logistics
Their hours are pretty limited. They’re only available on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Friday mornings to 1pm. The site is wheelchair accessible, though, and they accept Medicaid Advantage Plans.
