About River Region Human Services Clay County
Known for its family friendly atmosphere and outdoor recreational activities like the St. Johns River, Orange Park, Florida, is home to River Region Human Services Clay County. For over 50 years, this community based organization has served residents of Northeast Florida. You can access addiction, mental health, primary care, housing, and HIV/AIDS services.
Quality Care Regardless of Finances
One great feature I noticed was their dedication to affordable care. They accept several public and private insurance plans, including UnitedHealthcare, Optum, Molina, VA CCN, Florida Medicaid, and Medicare. Even if you don't have insurance, you may qualify for income based services. Some of their programs are also partly funded by local, state and federal government agencies.
Pregnant and Postpartum Women Program (PPW)
What stands out most to me is their pregnant and postpartum tracks. They welcome pregnant women, mothers, and women who have recently terminated a pregnancy within the past 12 months.
This 90 day residential program provides substance abuse treatment to women and their families. You can access ongoing support, including parenting skills classes, medical service tracking and family reunification services. If you don't have insurance, you can participate in these programs for free.
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
Another great feature I noticed was their MAT program for alcohol and opioid addiction. They prescribe FDA-approved Suboxone, Vivitrol, methadone, and Subutex to ease withdrawal symptoms and cravings.
You’ll also participate in proven interventions, including substance abuse education, individual and group therapy and mental health services. Medical service referrals are also available.
HIV Services
I also think it's beneficial that they provide comprehensive HIV services. You can access free prevention, education, intervention, and testing services to protect yourself and make informed decisions about your health. They also offer a mobile unit, providing these services throughout the community.
