Men and women had gender specific groups where they could discuss traumas, family and gender specific issues. The young adults group focused on transitioning into adulthood, gaining independence, and clarifying identity.
Detoxification and Residential Treatment in Calabasas
Medical detox was available for users of alcohol, benzodiazepines, cocaine, methamphetamines, and opioids. Residential treatment followed detox or was recommended for severe addictions and/or mental health diagnosis.
The center offered private bedrooms, acupuncture rooms, yoga studios and spa facilities. Recreational areas included pools and exercise facilities.
Helpful Therapies and Outpatient Treatments
Holistic therapy included acupuncture, massage, meditation and daily relaxation sessions. Clients would learn new ways to manage their stress without using substances.The facility did not use the 12 step method but rather focused on individualized care.
Dual diagnosis treatment was available using therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and rational emotive behavioral therapy. These therapeutic methods helped clients better understand and address the underlying issues of their addiction. Outpatient services included intensive outpatient programs and partial hospitalization programs.
One of the nice things about this facility’s location was that it was not far from various nature areas such as Red Rock Canyon Park and King Gillette Ranch. Clients would have the opportunity to enjoy stress relieving activities such as hiking, fishing or bird watching. The treatment center was also just an hour outside of Los Angeles.
