About Outreach House
Outreach House is located in a quiet Queens neighborhood of Ridgewood, New York, and caters to the addiction and co-occurring disorder recovery needs of adolescents from ages 12 to 18. This residential program follows a modified therapeutic model combining treatment with education and social activities. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is available as needed.
You may be interested to know that they work with court involved youths, too. Family members receive their own support and are invited to be part of the recovery process themselves.
They work with Medicaid, Medicare, and many other insurance plans. They also provide a sliding fee scale for those who are uninsured.
Highly Individualized Care
This program personalizes as much of the addiction treatment process as possible for clients. Beyond the many evidence backed treatment methods they draw on, staff also individualize the auxiliary services provided. This extends to things like behavioral workshops, recreational activities, and education opportunities.
This includes on site schooling that meets New York’s Department of Education’s standards. No matter where a client is in their education, they can still attend classes and not risk falling behind their peers just because they’re in a substance use disorder program.
Building Self-Esteem
A lot of skill development happens in this program targeting different areas of a client's life: social, vocational, life, and others. What they all have in common, though, is that they build up self confidence and empower clients. Beyond helping them achieve their education and work related goals, this improved sense of self aids in long term sobriety and relapse prevention.
Easy Access
Families of clients might like that Outreach House is easily reached through the city’s public transportation options. Use the MTA subway and bus system to be there for your loved one when they need you and explore additional addiction recovery support resources when they eventually complete the program.
